Mark your Calendars!

As we enter our final week in our campaign to collect donations to support Japan, we want to once again take the opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support for this worthy cause. It couldn’t have been possible without all of you. As an update on our Tap House Fundraiser, we were able to raise $97! Thank you!

We also want to take a moment to remind of some really cool and important event that are coming up this week!

First, our next general meeting will be tomorrow, Tuesday, April 5th at 7:00pm, and will be held at UTC 3.132. Please come out as we will be making Onigiri for our cultural segment!

Second, on Thursday, April 7th, will will be hosting our Golden Week Volunteer Meeting. Location and time will be announced at the general meeting. For those of you that will not be able to make the general meeting, we will update the website with the exact time and location later on that evening.

Finally, get excited! Our Golden Week Festival: Benefit for Japan event will be taking place at Gregory Gym Plaza this Friday, April 8th at 7pm. Please join us this evening for a fun filled night of music, food, and games. Proceeds from this event will be going to help support Japan. As a request to all of our members, we ask that you show your support by wearing your “Support Japan” shirt or our Golden Week shirt this Friday.

We will still be tabling this week at Gregory Gym to collect donations and sell t-shirts. So, if you haven’t yet gotten a “Support Japan” t-shirt, please stop by and do so!

JA? Winning – $6,017.14!

Thanks to everyone who donated, JA has surpassed our goal of $5,000. Our day 5 donations came to $1,215.44 to make a grand total of $6,017.14 for the week. JA would like to thank everyone involved in this. Raising this much money wouldn’t have been possible without everyone’s support! We’ve raised that much, but that doesn’t mean it will have to end there. JA will continue tabling next week to continue fundraising. JA has another exciting announcement as well. We’ve teamed up with the Co-op to make a t-shirt to raise some funds. This shirt will go on sale in the near future inside both of the Co-op locations as well as online. Spread the word to help Japan!

Don’t forget to come out to our Golden Week Festival on April 8th at Gregory Plaza. We’ll have Japanese food, games, and performances for everyone! We’re going to donate part of our proceeds from this event to the relief effort so we’ll need as many people out and as much extra funding as possible! Email JA if you would like to help out with our festival. Thanks so much everyone! We’ll keep y’all updated as more info gets out.

Tuesday: $1,392.23

Thursday: $ 1,301.51

Total: $4,734.70!

We are so close to our goal of $5,000 and I believe we’ll be abel to do this! Thanks to everyone who’s been helping out with this effort and everyone who’s donated so far. JA just had our GM since coming out and we had a great turn out. Members came out and folded paper cranes for Japan. I believe we were able to fold 200+ paper cranes tonight and we’re shooting to make 1,000 eventually. JA will still be tabling tomorrow at Gregory, RLM, and W. mall so come out and see us to help to help out or to just donate. Without the continuing support of every member and the entire UT campus this project wouldn’t be possible.
