Thursday: $ 1,301.51

Total: $4,734.70!

We are so close to our goal of $5,000 and I believe we’ll be abel to do this! Thanks to everyone who’s been helping out with this effort and everyone who’s donated so far. JA just had our GM since coming out and we had a great turn out. Members came out and folded paper cranes for Japan. I believe we were able to fold 200+ paper cranes tonight and we’re shooting to make 1,000 eventually. JA will still be tabling tomorrow at Gregory, RLM, and W. mall so come out and see us to help to help out or to just donate. Without the continuing support of every member and the entire UT campus this project wouldn’t be possible.

Help JA help Japan

Dear JA members, family, and friends,

As most of you know already, an earthquake of magnitude 8.9 accompanied by a monstrous tsunami devastated the east coast of Japan. Our hearts go out to those with family and friends in Japan who are trying cope with this disaster. We hope that Japan will be able to recover quickly from the destruction.

To aid in the current situation, JA will be fundraising for the relief efforts as soon as school starts up again on March 21st. If you would like to help out with this effort, please contact JA as soon as possible. We are still exploring different ideas to fundraise so please contact us if you have any.

The Daily Texan has contacted JA and is looking to interview someone who has personally been affected by this disaster. If you would like to volunteer for this interview, please let us know as soon as possible as they are on a very tight deadline.

This tragic event has affected everyone, and JA is here to help out as best as we can. I’ve posted some links below that may be of use to anyone that wants to help out. I know that there are many more resources out there, so please forward any additional links to the JA email.

JA will try and keep members posted about any news on our fundraising efforts, as well as any breaking news on Japan. Again, if you would like to help out with this effort please contact JA with any information as soon as possible. If you could, please forward this message to anyone that you know may be able to help.
